Our Chesterfield/New Baltimore, MI customer is seeking an experienced 1st shift Automation Tech for a contract-to-hire (minimum 6 months) position at an overtime exempt salary of $50,000 - $55,000. Hours include possible overtime.
1st shift: 6:45am-3pm
2nd shift: 2:45pm - 11:15pm
3rd shift: 10:45pm - 7:15am
Summary:
Under limited direction, directs the automation needs of the company. Collaborates with internal departments to resolve problems and issues resolving cycle times, increasing through-put and work towards a solution to eliminate labor and overtime. Escalates all issues needing discussion to outside customers to the appropriate departmental manager.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinates training of all personal on Ranger automation
- Provide integral support of new components and systems with a multiplicity of interfaces and connections
- Working with the automation team, developing requirements on assemblies and systems to ensure the supply of components are compatible in function and installation
- Maintain all automation conducting preventative maintenance and suggesting solutions and measures to be taken on a strategic basis
- Functions as a technical expert on all automation projects
- Provides advice and counsel to others regarding automation
- Performs all duties in accordance with the company’s ISO/TS 16949 quality procedures
- Maintains an appropriate level of conventionality and conformance in regard to the corporate culture. Relates well with others; including peers, supervisors, subordinates, customers and suppliers while maintaining good attendance. Assume appropriate role(s) when working in a team environment. Responds appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the work environment.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- In depth knowledge and understanding of automation for plastic injection molding, and how to repair equipment. Must be able to change out controllers. Ranger automation equipment experience is a definite plus.
- Able to work in high-heat conditions, standing for long periods of time, ability to work in labor-intensive environment requiring full mobility and adequate strength, ability to lift objects over 25 lbs., have basic math skills and available to work weekends and any necessary overtime (overtime exempt).
