We are seeking a Dyno Technician. The ideal candidate will be able to work closely with test engineers and technicians to execute measurement and inspection, reporting and brake testing in an efficient, organized and accurate fashion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform inspection of parts used in qualification testing of braking friction
Support test and application engineering with data and reports
Generate custom reports for engineers from raw inspection data utilizing computer tools
Collaborate with engineers to develop new inspection and testing processes to gather design data
Assist in the development of process flow diagrams, control plans and inspection standards, gage and operator instructions.
Develop, maintain and improve documents in accordance with the corporate operating requirements
Prepare test articles for brake dynamometer technicians using basic machine tools
Support gauge calibration and maintenance
Utilize machine tools to modify parts for testing - Bridgeport vertical mill, table saw, surface grinder
Perform hands on testing - dynamometer set ups, start-up procedures, programming and data collection
Fill in for test technicians when needed and be able to support day, afternoon, and late shift technicians when necessary to ensure lab operational capability
Perform job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in laboratory policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.
Required Experience
EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in scientific field preferred
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Strong computer skills - Windows 7, Windows 10, Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
Inspection background preferred - CMM, 3D scanning, microscopy methods (1-5 year's experience)
Strong mechanical skills - automotive, aviation, etc.
Strong written and oral communication skills required
Be able to get a license and operate a forklift as needed
Clean driving record
DESIRABLE:
Experience in manufacturing inspection environment
Machine Shop - Bridgeport vertical mill or equivalent, manual surface grinder, table saw, drill press, lathe (1-5 year's experience)
Good team work skills in test lab, machine shop, vehicle garage and office environment
Experience with ISO9001/IATF16949 Quality System and associated requirements (APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP)
Knowledge of SPC, DOE, GD&T, blueprint reading
Experience with 5S continual improvement methods
Knowledge of testing methods, experience with test specifications - SAE, Ford, GM, Mil-spec, Etc.
