Job Description
Summary of Job Duties:
Under the direction of Engineering personnel, prepare clear, complete, and accurate detail drawings from rough or detailed layouts or 3D concepts using SolidWorks.
With experience will gain responsibility for small design projects.
Some lab duties may be assigned.
May assist Product Specialists with literature projects and work as liaison with literature process personnel.
Assist Product Planning and Market Development activities
Qualifications Required:
Qualification 1: Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university partially completed and in good standing with engineering department;
Qualification 2: Accepted into the mechanical engineering co-op program (or equivalent) of an accredited four-year college or university;
Qualification 3: Ability to use basic knowledge of manufacturing and engineering practices, mathematics, material properties & other physical sciences to create, modify or complete engineering models and drawings;
Qualification 4: Ability to use Solid Works or other 3D modeling package. Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Ability to use PC to review electronic databases;
Qualification 5: Ability to use a personal computer; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access;
Qualification 6: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to perform simple strength of material calculations.
Qualification 7: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
