General Purpose of Position:
The District Manager is responsible for overseeing several stores. Responsibilities include managing sales and operations, controlling expenses, payroll budgets, handling personnel issues with the assistance of HR, merchandising, and loss prevention. Other responsibilities include driving sales and ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout the locations. Must play a leadership role in solving problems, make informed decisions and manage the workforce and time wisely in order to achieve maximum results.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of the most qualified managers to meet the district's needs.
- Assist in orientation, train and coach the management staff in execution of daily tasks and to maximize sales.
- Participate in administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.
- Coordinate sales promotion activities and pricing of merchandise.
- Oversee preparation of merchandise placement and displays.
- Review operational reports and records to ensure adherence to Company policies/procedures, monitor store profitability, and manage payroll budgets.
- Coordinate new store openings/closing of existing locations.
- Ensure that proper channels of communication exist between the stores and headquarters
- Communicate with carriers to ensure new hires are set up properly systematically and termed employees are deleted from all reporting and training rosters.
- Oversee compliance of Store Managers with established Company policies/ standards, such as safekeeping of Company funds and property, personnel practices, security, sales, record-keeping procedures, and overall maintenance of the stores by performing required audits.
- Responsible for weekly/monthly inventory spot checks, with assistance of Store Manager
- Ensure Store Managers are sending returned inventory back to the warehouse in a timely manner, according to company policy.
- Help solve problems that affect the stores service, efficiency, and productivity.
- Evaluate local competition and make pricing recommendations to maintain competitive edge.
- Review and verify scheduling with Store Managers. Ensure staffing levels are healthy and appropriate during peak and off peak hours.
- Conduct weekly conference calls with Store Managers to ensure they have awareness and understanding of store goals, metrics, product information, best practices etc…
- Delivery/Coaching of Correction Action and or Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), with each individual location, if applicable.
- Weekly One On Ones with Store Managers
- Ensure Store Managers are conducting and documenting One On Ones with each individual associate in their locations, in addition to team meetings.
