The Corporate Trainer will provide training to all levels of employees. The objective of this training is to close the gap between job performance and the skills and knowledge needed to perform the job at required levels. This position is a visible and active source of influence to improve knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors resulting in higher levels of productivity and profitability for the company.
Specific Duties:
Actively develop productive working relationships with the Training Department, Human Resources representatives and other department managers both at the corporate offices and plant locations as needed.
May work within established processes to perform needs assessments and analyze the training needs of various departments. This may be done through interviews, surveys and/or gathered from personal experience within the company.
Establish specific objectives to meet each training request and fill a performance gap.
Determine what is needed in order to improve performance in the area of need.
May build the most effective training course possible using research, insight, experience, and understanding of the needs and culture of the company.
May design and develop training courses to fulfill training objectives and employee needs.
This may include designing new courses or updating existing ones. Course design must be cohesive, relevant, comprehensive and engaging. Design includes all necessary material such as student workbooks, facilitator guides, handouts, role plays, case studies, power point presentations, manager follow up guides, etc.
May conduct focus group reviews within established processes for all new courses and make decisions on what, if any, changes need to be made.
Coordinate course offerings within department schedules and make all necessary arrangements for materials, pre-class communications, travel and hotel reservations, training room adjustments, technology, on site representatives, sign in sheets, etc.
Present classes with an interesting and compelling lecture style combined with engagement activities that challenge the standard way of thinking. Class and material presentation may be in person, virtual or through e-learning.
Conduct post class follow up with students and their managers in accordance with department guidelines.
Assess the effectiveness of all courses presented through personal introspection, course surveys, input from other trainers and the head of the Training and Management Development department. Make necessary changes to improve effectiveness.
Share information, experiences and ideas with other trainers in an effort to raise the overall effectiveness of the Training and Management Development department.
Complete all necessary reports including project status reports, travel and expense reports, feedback requests, etc.
