Northwood University seeks an Academic Assistant for the Adult Degree Program.
RESPONSIBILTIES include providing support to ADP Academic Team including Academic Dean, Faculty Manager and Instructional Designer; Assist Faculty Manager with adjunct faculty hiring by providing assistance in managing employment applications, scheduling interviews and processing paperwork; Assist Faculty Manager in faculty assignments, i.e. scheduling and contracting faculty assignments, collection of course syllabi, processing of book orders and handling payroll situations; Maintain accurate and up to date faculty files, including Datatel documentation of qualifications and faculty participation in training opportunities; Assist Academic Dean in responding to faculty concerns, student concerns and other situations; Assist outreach center/program center personnel with faculty issues and concerns; Provide support in other areas as needed in day-to-day activities.
EXPECTATIONS include managing schedules efficiently with emphasis on day-to-day meetings, deadlines and routine/non-routine situations; Work professionally to support the Academic Team, including professional dress, verbal and non-verbal communication, emails and phone skills.
QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication and customer services skills; extensive knowledge of Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access,PowerPoint; Ability to multi-task and prioritize work; Ability to work with considerable independence; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
