Summary
This senior technical position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining large enterprise-wide application systems or complex networks of microcomputer, telecommunications, automation systems or business requirements analysis. Responsibilities may include design and development of systems and/or enhancements to existing systems, capable of fully meeting business needs and objectives. Staff in this classification performs a full range of system support functions requiring a technical computer support background. Work is performed under supervision.

Specific Duties
The assigned individual will report directly to the Deputy Division Director of Enterprise Computing and Infrastructure in the Department of Technology. The employee shall perform services and support for the County’s technology infrastructure. Services shall include, but are not limited to:
- Advanced administration of Microsoft Exchange environment
- Advanced administration of Active Directory
- Perform Windows server administrative tasks
- Maintain and Administer VMware Environment
- Configure/reconfigure virtual and physical servers as needed
- Perform SAN related administrative tasks
- Gather information for root cause analysis and document findings
- Perform server maintenance/upgrades as identified by Network Management tools, including, SolarWinds, and others
- Conduct server application software installation and/or configuration tasks as requested
- Ensure documentation of all modifications
- Troubleshoot and/or resolve network operations problem calls dispatched by the Wayne County Call Center
- Off-hours support for LAN/WAN problem calls
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Required Experience
- Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in enterprise system design, development, and implementation projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar discipline from a recognized college or university, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience administrating Microsoft Windows 2003 Server or higher
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing and advanced administration of Active Directory
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
- Minimum 3 years of experience configuring and advanced administration of Microsoft Exchange environment
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing and advanced administration of VMware environment
- Minimum 3 years of experience administrating SAN equipment
- Other Microsoft products i.e. OCS, ISA, SharePoint, etc.
