Our division includes a more than 60-person creative and media services group and conducts all aspects of communications from strategic planning and research, to public relations and social media, events and outreach, advertising, partnerships and engagement. *Job Description:* As a member of the Strategic Communications and Marketing Division, the Communications Manager will lead the planning, development, and implementation of communications strategies and activities to support our energy efficiency efforts with utility and government clients across the country. On a daily basis we help our clients and communities use less energy, save money and help the environment through the development, implementation and refinement of sound marketing and outreach initiatives. We are looking for someone who is as passionate about our work as we are and has the skills and attitude to be successful. This position will be based in our Jackson, MI office and will involve coordination with other ICF teams in Detroit, Michigan; Fairfax, VA; Washington, DC; Columbia, MD as well as other remote staff. Occasional travel is required. *Key Responsibilities:* * Primary responsibilities will include: Managing the marketing of commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs for an independent nonprofit dedicated to helping customers benefit from saving energy. * Working directly with clients and ICF team to develop and implement marketing and communications plans to educate commercial and industrial customers about energy efficiency and drive participation in energy efficiency programs. * Working with ICF Creative Services team to fulfill the development of on- and offline-marketing materials including web sites, direct mailers, brochures, testimonials, technical fact sheets, incentive applications forms, email and direct mail campaigns, trade ally newsletters, advertising campaigns, posters, display materials, etc. * Managing the review and approval process for marketing materials and plans, including working across the organization to deploy efforts (IT, program management, client, legal). * Working with the ICF Media Services team to develop, propose, and implement vertical marketing and advertising campaigns, coordinating the deployment of integrated outreach campaigns across broadcast, print, online, social media, events, etc. * Managing the execution of digital and interactive communication strategies. Provide media relations support, including writing press releases, working with client and media contacts, building relationships with local press, and monitoring and flagging important news stories, trends. * Developing project budgets and revenue forecasts, and managing project budgets * Preparing monthly reports on activities and results of the marketing program. * Developing and executing business growth strategies, including marketing to potential clients and responding to RFPs. * *Basic Qualifications:* * Bachelor s degree in marketing communications, public relations or related communications field; masters preferred. * Eight years of working experience in marketing, public relations, communications, social marketing, or related field. * Willingness to travel. *Preferred Skills:* * Experience Interest in and commitment to energy efficiency, the environment, and sustainable living, including understanding of energy optimization programs and experience working on energy and/or energy efficiency efforts. * Experience should include implementing marketing communications plans, with the ability to manage and execute public relations, collateral development, advertising, and social media projects. * Experience with clients within any of the following sectors: energy efficiency; utility; construction, real estate, architecture and engineering industries. * Experience working with providers of energy efficiency services for commercial or residential markets. *Professional Skills* * Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills. * History of positive client relationships. * Strong command of financial management and ability to stretch a limited marketing budget for maximum effectiveness. * Creative thinker with a positive attitude who enjoys a challenge and finding solutions. * Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities. * Ability to work independently, seek help as needed and contribute to team and company culture.
