Essential Duties and Requirements of the Job:
Including the following, other duties may be assigned.
- · Reports daily to Tooling Manager pertaining to all aspects of our tooling applications.
- · Maintain last shots to use as reference for any tool repairs when necessary.
- · Performs all tooling related activity including repairs, PM, Engineering changes, adjustments and new tool builds, as directed.
- · Monitors production schedules to ensure all repairs and PM’s are completed on time to eliminate any production delays due to tooling related issues.
- · Identifies and communicates proper inventories of tool repair parts necessary for tool maintenance.
- · Assists in identifying initial and continuous improvements of tooling preventative maintenance procedures and schedules.
- · Maintains all necessary tooling records and preventative maintenance logs.
- · Supports the operation by adhering to company policies and procedures throughout the work day.
- · Maintains general housekeeping in work area.
- · Must adhere to all safety and environmental policies.
- · Seeks Continuous Improvement methods to improve efficiency, quality and reduction of scrap.
- · All other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- · Must be able to interact with coworkers in a cooperative, respectful and professional manner.
- · Requires the ability to solve technical math problems (basic geometry & trigonometry, operations of positive and negative numbers, decimal equations.)
- · Knowledge of disposal of fluids and waste of governed by Environmental Protection agencies.
- · Basic knowledge in Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- · Certification in operation of overhead cranes.
- · Maintains current fork lift license.
- · Safely operates fork lift and platform trucks.
- · Journeyman Tool Maker and/or mold maker preferred or 5 years experience in Tooling.
- · May require additional schooling for knowledge updates as it applies to Tooling, machinery and current technology.
- · Must possess safe work habits, a mature attitude, good attendance record and the ability to follow instructions in a timely manner.
- · High School diploma or GED.
