A metal components manufacturer in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking an Automatic Press Operator. Preference will be given to candidates with experience operating a variety of manual presses, from 120 to 300 ton. Additional duties will be expected such as inventory, rework and part sorting on a day-to-day basis along with general maintenance and upkeep of the presses and all other duties as needed. Selected candidate must be dependable and be willing to undertake additional tasks while performing the operation of the press. Using prescribed tools and machine sequence to set up, adjust, and operate an automatic press and associated dies including feeder, decoiler and straighteners. Troubleshoot typical operating difficulties. Inspect and determine quality of product produced to meet or exceed standards as set by management. Able to properly use Pegasus for buy out. Minimum three years’ experience in setup, operation and troubleshooting an automatic press. General knowledge of precision measuring equipment. Candidates must have experience operating an automatic press.
This position is on 2nd shift working 2:30pm - 11:00pm Monday – Friday with overtime as production requires. The Automatic Press Operator is full time evaluation hire with the possibility of direct hire and starts with a pay range of $15.00 – 16.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
