Position Summary:
Dow Corning seeks an Enterprise Architect to be responsible for translating Dow Corning’s business strategy, and vision into an IT strategy to enable them. As an Enterprise Architect at Dow Corning you will deliver technology plans, roadmaps and the associated governance that is required to enable technology changes to be effective.
Primary Responsibilities:
You will also be responsible for leading teams, communicating, championing and driving the evolution of the current IT architecture to the future state IT architectures that will underpin Dow Corning’s future business success in an efficient, sustainable, agile and adaptable manner. This role will act as a key process and IT interface for large scale process and system related improvement initiatives within the corporation.
As an enterprise architect you will also contribute to the financial and operational performance of the enterprise by applying comprehensive business, technology, and cross process expertise to strategically align, design, and define enterprise solutions and initiatives.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
• Align Dow Corning’s IT strategy and planning with company's business goals and set the business process, technology and solution strategy for the enterprise.
• Deliver strategic enterprise roadmaps, directions and initiatives that clearly align with corporate strategy.
• Collaborate with leadership to lead the organizational and process strategy for the company.
• Lead the decision making process with Business Process Leaders, technical domain & solutions architect(s) to provide a consensus based, cross process, enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever changing business needs.
• Perform strategic assessment of external IT vendors and trends against business strategy to define technology roadmaps and strategies.
• Long-term strategic responsibility and governance for Dow Corning’s IT capabilities including the reference architectures for both technology and process.
• Promotion of shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies. Drive rationalization and simplification throughout the IT landscape of the enterprise.
• Management of the risks associated with information and IT assets through appropriate Life Cycle Management, standards and security policies.
• Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise.
• Optimization of information management approaches through an understanding of evolving business needs and technology capabilities.
• Build employee knowledge and skills in specific areas of expertise.
• Direct, develop and maintain technical reference architecture for the enterprise
• Partner with business process leaders to deliver project and solution roadmaps to improve strategic business process components.
• Develop and maintain relationships with team members, on-site consultants, partners, companies, third parties, and clients to define, develop and deploy technology solutions.
• Assist client in defining strategic technology direction for solution. Evaluates and selects business application packages and strategic vendors.
• Evaluate technologies and determines strengths and weaknesses of technology architecture, implementation, suitability and positioning; implements solutions to ensure consistency with the company vision
