Job Summary
Oversees projects and teams that support compliance administration of plant licensing requirements. Provides oversight and guidance on policy recommendations for licensing and regulatory requirements. Facilitates work with regulatory commissions (e.g., Nuclear Regulatory Commission), including regional inspections and site-based compliance. Ensures compliance with industry regulations, codes, and standards. Span of control: Leads team of individual contributors.
Key Accountabilities
Leads projects and teams that support nuclear plant licensing and compliance requirements
Ensures compliance with nuclear quality assurance documentation and record keeping, along with other regulatory requirements (e.g., site inspections, etc.)
Serves as liaison with regulatory commissions (e.g., Nuclear Regulatory Commission) and facilitates regional and site-based inspections related to plant licensing requirements
Provides guidance on industry issues through research and benchmarking and provides recommendations to leadership on process improvements for licensing requirements
Ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory/management functions for a given group(s) within a business unit: planning, organizing, directing the performance of on-going activities and/or special/ad hoc assignments, staffing (employee selections, training, coaching and performance management, time entry), coordinating, reporting and budgeting
Leads the continuous improvement commitment and efforts for team, including designing processes, establishing quality and quantity standards and metrics, collecting, refining, adapting, and communicating best practices, sharing knowledge, and developing staff in a systematic fashion; uses process design outcomes to solve problems
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following three options:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, mathematics, or science-related discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Physics) and 8 years of plant licensing and/or compliance experience, inclusive of 1 year of experience leading projects and/or teams; OR
Associate degree and 10 years of plant licensing and/or compliance experience, inclusive of 1 year of experience leading projects and/or teams; OR
High school diploma and 12 years of experience of plant licensing and/or compliance experience, inclusive of 1 year of experience leading projects and/or teams
Other Qualifications
Preferred:
Nuclear power plant experience
Other Requirements:
Ability to maintain emergency response team requirements (e.g., Emergency Response Organization (ERO) under the Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP))
Proficiency in computer applications
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to pass all phases of in-processing requirements, including background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate radiation worker/respiratory training, and approved as medically certifiable (e.g., pass drug and alcohol screening requirements)
