Counsels with customers to determine financial needs and performs functions necessary to open appropriate accounts and assist customers with financial planning. Must truly care for people. Job Duties:
Interviews customers to determine financial needs and counsels them on the correct package of services to meet those needs. Must have in-depth knowledge of all products and services to perform this task adequately. Must use cross-selling skills.
Help customers meet financial goals, having complete knowledge of such options as single and joint ownership, revocable trust accounts, business account ownership, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, checking account programs, U.S. Savings Bond programs, credit cards, merchant services, ATM/Debit cards, retirement programs, direct deposits, loan services, Dart Express Net, and safe deposit boxes. Gathers information from the customer, and recommends the best products and services to them based on their needs, transfers funds from existing accounts, prepares sight drafts to obtain funds from other sources, prepares paperwork, and assists the customer in signing of documents necessary to process new accounts or safe deposit boxes. Has knowledge and understanding of documentation necessary to open non-personal accounts.
Sells retirement programs, advising the customer of financial investments available and acquainting the customer with various legal requirements, gathering necessary information and preparing the documents. Must be knowledgeable of changing laws that affect retirement programs.
Keeps abreast of new developments in financial services and current marketing trends and conditions. Must also acquire familiarity with general characteristics of all types of investments (rather than strictly bank-type investments). Prepares collection forms for maturing savings bonds, counsels customers on the merits of the various investment options, and processes changes of ownership and exchanges of savings bonds.
Prepares and processes Indemnity Bonds.
Prepares and has understanding of ACH forms & options.
Processes name changes on customer accounts ensuring new documentation is completed and corrections to CIF are made.
Assists with covering the front desk and all related duties as needed and acts as back up for incoming phone call for the Customer Service Center.
Answers questions and solves problems for customers and bank staff concerning all services provided.
Responsible for selling ATM/Debit cards and handling ATM/Debit card-oriented customer problems and/or complaints. Determines approval or denials and handles denial documents.
Attend Customer Service meetings monthly.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
