Student Enrichment
Position Summary
If offered this position, you will develop, coordinate, and evaluate appropriate, targeted recruitment activities to support the expansion of the Veterinary Nursing Program in the CVM at Michigan State University, as well as create enrichment opportunities designed for VN students to provide outreach opportunities, build connections among units within the College, contribute to student wellness, and enhance the student experience. Duties will include outreach to, and connection with identified core audiences such as clubs, HS career and/or guidance counselors, veterinary science class moderators, STEM clubs, community college advisors, etc.; collaboration with the CVM Communications team for reviewing and updating of marketing materials and strategies; attendance at career fairs, college fairs, and conferences on behalf of the program; outreach to veterinary community partners to better understand partner needs, reach prospective students working in the community, and to educate community partners regarding the Veterinary Nursing profession, and the Program; and coordination with the CVM Alumni Relations Coordinator as well as communication with CVM alumni for outreach engagement and research on program successes and opportunities. Student enrichment duties will include, but may not be limited to, the development of enrichment activities for program students including onboarding events for new students, wellness check-ins and activities, clerkship orientation, inter-professional activities, and training opportunities across CVM programs. Additional duties include instruction in laboratory and didactic Veterinary Nursing program courses and integration into Doctor of Veterinary Medicine professional courses to educate on the veterinary nursing profession, scope of practice, utilization, benefits of hiring, and proper utilization. Other duties as assigned.

Required Degree
Bachelors -Veterinary Nursing
Minimum Requirements
Successful candidate must have:
- Bachelor''s Degree in Veterinary Nursing, Veterinary Technology, or related field, or equivalent work/educational experience in veterinary nursing/veterinary education
- One to three years'' work experience in the veterinary nursing profession
- Ability to travel
Desired Qualifications
- Veterinary nursing, veterinary technology, or other equivalent qualification
- Bachelor''s degree
- Veterinary Technician License eligible in Michigan
- Diverse clinical practice experience
- Broad understanding of the veterinary nursing profession, veterinary nursing education and state/national initiatives that affect the profession
- Leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations of students in varied demographic areas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiasm for the veterinary nursing and veterinary medical professions and for student development
- Educational background in communication, finance, business, or marketing
- Knowledge of the MSU Veterinary Nursing Program and pathways offered
- Knowledge of marketing and recruitment tools
- Experience with student support services/advising, student development, education, community/social development, community outreach/extension
