Job Summary
Competent in and able to perform all duties involved in the assigned functional area. Will assist in planning and facilitating learning for newly hired and incumbent paid staff and perform competency assessments as needed to ensure compliance with regulations and the needs of the American Red Cross Blood Services (ARCBS). Foster a culture of positive public relations at all times to promote a professional image of the ARCBS. Uphold a culture
of strict compliance with policies and procedures to ensure SQUIPP. Mentor instructors I and on-the-job instructors (OJIs) to develop skills for promotional opportunity and strengthen the learning team.
1. Assist with the establishment of goals and objectives for assigned functional area instruction in cooperation with the divisional/business unit instructional team and facility functional management.
2. Provide guidance, advice and mentoring for instructional staff to assist them in developing their skill base.
3. Deliver training in accordance with training program objectives and plans and manage performance or attendance issues with staff members during training courses.
4. Function in a GMP environment and meet all regulatory requirements.
5. Travel as necessary within the division/business unit to facilitate learning activities with new and incumbent staff in the duties associated with department operations to enable them to perform competently and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
6. Maintain competency to perform all activities in assigned functional area
7. Perform competency assessments as required.
8. Gather, compile and analyze statistical data for the measurement of curriculum and training effectiveness.
9. Foster an environment which encourages regulatory compliance, excellent customer service, problem
solving and accountability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant education and/or experience required. Minimum of three years in assigned functional area to include fully successful completion of most recent competency assessment, if applicable. Proven ability to present information verbally and visually to groups of various sizes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to adapt to irregular hours and schedule changes with little notice. Must be able to travel regularly and for extended periods of time (up to two weeks). Must be computer literate and able to perform tasks using ARCBS programs. Ability to balance production, customer service and compliance to ensure the integrity of ARCBS products; and able to deliver training for and competently perform (if applicable) all phases of department operations according to ARCBS procedures.
