Our St Clair Shores, MI customer is seeking an experienced 1stshift Maintenance Electrical Technician (6am-2pm with a 20 minute paid lunch break) for a direct hire position at an hourly wage of $22.00 (increases at 6 months to $23.10 per hour). Currently, most skilled positions are working overtime, averaging 45-55 total hours per week, so must be available for overtime.
Purpose:
Responsible for new electrical controls and supporting existing controls throughout the Division.
Responsibilities:
Wire machinery
Program machinery using various software programs to automate the machines
Assemble enclosures and panels
Read electrical schematics and other documents to diagnose and repair machinery and equipment
Troubleshoot machinery & equipment
Communicate with co-workers and others to carry-out job duties
Various other duties as required by the department
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent,
Plus formal training leading to Electrician status in Machine Repair and/or equivalent job experience
- · Software programming: (Versa Pro, RS Logix, AutoCad, Rexroth, Hypercyl, Servox, and Logic Master 90)
Advanced equipment troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949
Operate manual and electronic micrometers, calipers, gages, grinding machines and drill presses
Knowledge of cutting, forming, turning, milling, grinding, tool sharpening, SPS (statistical process control) charting, calculating speeds & feeds, machine set-up, blueprint reading, and electrical schematic reading.
Must have knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic systems sufficient to diagnose and repair machines
Must have good communication skills to interact with all levels of employees
Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department-related tasks are required.
- · Safety glasses, hearing protection and slip resistant, solid upper, leather shoes (most tennis shoes are acceptable) are required. Will be working in a manufacturing environment. Job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant, including second-story areas. Must be able to identify colors for purposes of executing machine and equipment repairs. The ability to lift 40 lbs is required.
