Manufacturing Engineer – Scanning and 3D Imaging - 10802BR
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Duties
· Function as an expert in laser scanning and other imaging technologies
· Develop and manage the process and specifications for architectural laser scanning of facilities and process equipment for machining and assembly lines
· Interact with diverse vendors such as Architectural/Engineering firms, Construction Management firms, Machining and Assembly Equipment OEMs, etc. to drive the integration of their data into a 3D factory model
· Translate AutoCAD Layouts into JT for importing into Tecnomatix Process Simulate
· Support the translation of 3D CAD data from machining and assembly OEMs
· Perform minor 3D modeling and reverse engineering in CAD as required
· Enhance processes to consume layouts and 3D CAD data for Virtual Manufacturing through interactions with the Layout section and OEMs
· Support the initiative to create a 3D factory model using 2D/3D CAD and point cloud data
Preferred Qualifications
· BS in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering or equivalent
· Some experience in powertrain manufacturing
· Expertise in CAD translation
· Expertise in visualization technologies (Autodesk Navisworks, Siemens Vis Mockup, etc.)
