Position Description/Requirements Position Summary: Dow Corning Business Applications organization seeks a data quality specialist to support the development of master data governance and quality for the enterprise and be a part of the newly formed Enterprise Data Management Office. This highly visible role will assist with reducing the cost of data quality errors in Dow Corning by establishing effective master data governance in conjunction with Dow Corning's Master Data Manager. Primary Responsibilities: The Data Quality Specialist works collaboratively with process leaders, end users, senior leadership, to gather data quality and governance requirements and reports directly to Dow Corning’s Master Data Manager. The Data Quality Specialist is responsible for defining, interpreting and implementing data quality and governance solutions across all business processes. The Data Quality Specialist provides detailed process knowledge for prioritized projects. This role includes technical design, configuration, testing, and implementation of new and enhanced data quality metrics and governance solutions, analysis capabilities including data profiling, as well as support, client interaction, requirements gathering, communications, project planning, rules creation and resource estimation. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Defines the SAP Customer/Vendor/Material/Finance data structures and is the custodian of the Master Data. Design and Implement the elements, attributes and other characteristics for the same. • Responsible for standardizing data naming, establishing consistent data definitions, monitoring/auditing the data quality • Drive Data Governance. Establish governance guidelines and principles. Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide decision making and help to ensure that the optimal governance structures are in place. Promote the outcomes and results to the organization • Identify, analyze and report/resolve data issues, related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency and completeness. • Establish data profiling techniques for data patterns and metric/benchmark reporting to derive actionable insight. • Provide analytical and governance skills to maintain and develop enterprise master data and rules through enterprise Master Data Management tools. • Develop, Verify and suggest changes to requirement gathering, design documents, perform impact analysis for application changes. • Plan and organize tasks, report progress, manage & coordinate with the integration partners for implementation. • Provide recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. • Assist users with problems and resolve issues independently. Required Education and Experience: The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years professional experience in Information Technology, Business Process, or operational roles utilizing SAP systems. The selected candidate must have at least 2 years of experience with SAP data maintenance and cleansing and have a passion for data quality. Experience with data analysis, process analysis, business process cycles within a multi-tier organization Expertise in defining master data structures, source to target mapping, business rules and definitions is highly desired Working knowledge of SAP Information Steward is a plus.
