Engineering Specialist: Dimensionsal Controls (Launch) - 10476BR
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Duties:
· Develop a dimensional control strategy that supports variability reduction (Six Sigma)
· Establish and monitor all quality target levels for each build
· Lead the resolution of all dimensional issues and implementation of corrective actions for the Body Area
· Provide input on design and assembly concepts that will yield minimal variation
· Establish critical characteristics for gauging and measurement and the data collection method
· Determine necessary inspection equipment and facility requirements
· Review internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics compliance and process compatibility
· Develop an action plan for each pre-production build that:
o Investigates and prioritizes concerns
o Measures sub-assemblies and BIW units
o Verifies corrective actions on internal processes and int./ext. supplier processes
o Resolves dimensional and gauging issues identified by the Tooling & Equipment Specialists
