To support the project, Eagle Mine LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to join the team. The Eagle Project is a high grade nickel deposit located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The facilities to be developed will include an underground mine and surface facilities with a separate mill facility to produce copper and nickel concentrates to be delivered to third party smelters and refiners.
The primary purpose of the Technical Services Manager is to be responsible for the technical development and operation of an underground nickel mine which is located 25 miles from Marquette, Michigan.
To support these responsibilities, the role will have the following accountabilities:
- Provide safety leadership for the mine technical department during development and operations. This includes managing department & individual Safety Improvement Plans, mentoring employees in safety, and ensuring that the work of the department complies with Lundin, MSHA, MiOSHA, & local requirements.
- Lead the department in establishing reliable mine planning systems including both proven systems and some innovative systems.
- Lead the department in managing production geology tasks and maintaining strategic ore body knowledge. Ensure that mine planning and certified person stay aligned. Work with finance and senior managers to ensure that the business is valued appropriately.
- Develop mine metrics for performance tracking. Work with the site business improvement and financial personnel to clearly communicate performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead the team of individuals installing and operating the mine communications systems. Ensure that these systems are accurate and match with mill systems.
- Provide clear communication to mine operations personnel on mine plans and critical tasks. Actively seek input during planning process from operations personnel.
- Lead the development of the annual and long range plans for the production and technical areas.
- Provide supervision and leadership for the mine technical staff. This includes career development, annual review, and daily mentoring. Recruit, train, and manage a staff capable of delivering the required mine technical support.
