This role is considered to be at the highest level of expertise associated with their technology discipline, and often has expertise in more than one type of infrastructure, security or application technology.
Project
This Enterprise Architect role is focused on cyber security. The role is responsible for creating a security architecture and serves as a security expert in application development, database design, network, and/or platform (operating system) efforts, helping project teams comply with enterprise and IT security policies, industry regulations, and best practices. The role analyzes business impact and exposure based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks. The role works with internal Cyber Security Solution Architects and Engineers to ensure adequate security solutions are in place throughout all IT systems and platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements. Analyze enterprise business context (trends and business strategy), as well as change requirements in other enterprise architecture (EA) viewpoints, to derive the future state. This includes defining the requirements, and models that guide technology decisions for the enterprise. Define high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the current and future state. Lead the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. In addition, lead the analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise. Assist with designing the governance activities associated with ensuring compliance. Define metrics to measure and demonstrate value. Understand and advocate EA principles and be prepared to "sell" the EA process, its outcome and ongoing results. Coordinate with other enterprise architects. Lead enterprise level technology adoption resulting in the successful development and implementation of technology roadmaps for large, enterprise-wide technology transformation initiatives.
Tasks
Works with substantial latitude and is often involved in matters which have a major bearing on the Company's business. They often handle multiple assignments concurrently, leveraging experience and advanced skill in handling complex assignments with no supervision necessary. May coordinate with project managers and team leaders. Examples of knowledge areas include:
Advanced server administration, network, software distribution, and data base technologies, capacity and performance techniques, voice and wireless technologies, internet infrastructure, disaster recovery, and security.

This role will collaborate with other EA team members, project teams and staff in various IT functional areas as needed to fulfill the responsibilities described above.
Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree preferably in an Information Technology field and typically has 15 or more years applicable exempt working experience with at least 5 at the BTS Tech Sr Lead/Spec I/II level or the equivalent.
