We have an opening for a STA (Supplier Technical Assistance) to provide the technical expertise to resolve engineering issues with parts at suppliers, communicate with operations on critical timing and assist with resolving unit-down issues. This position requires resolving technical issues that are prevalent during development and production launch with parts organizations, outside supplier.. The resolution may require updating drawings, writing DFS's (Deviation From Specification), analyzing materials, determine manufacturing process strategy and any process improvements. This position involves steel welded assemblies and machined products, etc. The STA will report on-site findings back to Quality, Purchasing, and Program management.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred, or a combination of education and related experience.
• One or a combination of minimum 5 years of STA - Purchasing/Supplier Quality/Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Process oriented, keen attention to detail. Must be able to develop, monitor, and track the progress of an action plan.
• Experience working with vendors on process improvements and equipment, tooling, and part issues.
• Ability to discern quality of suppliers’ processes and make recommendations for improvement
• Ideal candidates will have experience with quality processes, quality improvement, or lean manufacturing
• Excellent understanding of Quality criteria, including ISO, PPAP, APQP, FMEAs and DFMEAs
• Must possess strong leadership skills, leading the supplier to a positive timely result!
• Willing and able to work extended shifts when needed
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time domestically.
• Proven ability to use computer software including Outlook, Word, and Excel
