JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain machine operations at an optimum level by means of setup, tool repair, production or required machine maintenance.
DUTIES ARE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
1. DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS:
A. Operates equipment in a safe and orderly manner.
B. Stocks presses with material.
C. Inspects presses, dies and guards for proper functioning.
D. Operates machines for production as necessary, per priority list.
E. Sets up dies, feeds, stock reels, guards and other items needed to run machines.
F. Does minor repairs on tooling (replaces or sharpens punches, dies, springs, polishes punches, dies etc.).
G. Observes where improvements can be made on methods used to setup and run jobs.
H. Tries to determine why presses won't produce a quality part when not to specifications.
I. Supplies own tools as required.
2. FLEXIBILITY:
A. Does press maintenance and minor repairs (oil, grease, drain air lines, and assists repair personnel as needed.)
B. Cleans machines, work area and keeps in order.
C. Drives Hi-lo when necessary to load stock, move dies, etc.
3. QUALITY ASSURANCE:
A. Inspects parts being produced, using visual methods, gages, etc., to insure quality parts.
B. Logs all SPC information as required.
C. Operates machines at a reasonable rate of quantity and still produce quality parts.
D. Sorts any questionable parts run from acceptable parts.
E. Hands in production tickets on time and filled out properly.
4. WORK ATTITUDE:
A. Is courteous and considerate of fellow employees, customers and visitors.
B. Regularly performs the work assigned during their work schedule.
5. EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:
A. Previous OBI or EYELET experience is beneficial but not necessary.
B. Previous experience in die setting will govern which level a new die setter would be placed at, at the time of their hire
C. Must successfully pass SPC test within first 90 days of employment.
