POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and vision of Delta College.
•Focus on supporting and assessing student learning and academic achievement to ensure student success.
•Continually develop appropriate innovation in learning and teaching to meet diverse learning styles and student needs.
•Collaborate voluntarily and energetically with colleagues in the academic discipline and with other faculty colleagues to develop effective learning experiences for a diverse student body.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Demonstrate teaching effectiveness which supports student learning and encompasses pedagogies for student success to meet course or program requirements.
•Possess the ability to work in a variety of settings which promote quality learning.
•Maintain professional development to assure currency within field of practice.
•Possess effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
•Teach Geography courses, both introductory and field courses.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Minimum Master’s Degree in Geography from a regionally accredited institution of higher education attained by July 1, 2014.
•Demonstrated currency in the field of World Cultural Geography.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES CONSIDERED:
•Demonstrated currency in Geographic Information Systems.
•Experience using a variety of teaching technologies and methodologies.
•Demonstrated current and ongoing professional growth.
•Substantive multicultural experience (for example: urban community service, academic course work in minority or foreign language studies, or teaching experience with minority students).
•Experience working with non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds and with varying academic skills.
•Experience using course management systems.
•College teaching experience, especially in a community college setting.
•Teaching experience in physical geography.
•Online teaching experience.
•Experience teaching diverse student populations.
•Experience with teaching courses for dual enrollment initiatives.
