QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business-related field. Minimum of three (3) years recent and relevant experience in accounting. School setting experience preferred. Currently possess or have ability to become certified with Michigan School Business Officials. High degree of proficiency in Finance/Accounting, office procedures and protocols. Above average knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Database Programs. Excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in interpersonal communication skills. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to work and communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, schools and community constituents. Able to effectively take direction, as well as, work independently and as a member of a team. Knowledge of the School Laws and Codes preferred. Adhere to all Board/State requirements.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The role of the BSC Director of Finance is to provide fiscal expertise to Iron Mountain Public Schools (IMPS), to be responsible for accounts payable/receivable, and to work as a team member in the BSC. Provide oversight and direction to all IMPS Departments and Administrators on IMPS financial matters. Provide oversight and direction to BSC Payroll personnel ensuring that all State and Federal regulations for labor laws are being adhered to.
