This position leads the coordination of manufacturing team activities at the work center level to achieve manufacturing objectives. This role provides support to manufacturing employees, and ensures compliance to manufacturing procedures and product quality specifications.This position is responsible for ensuring safety policies are being followed, reporting manufacturing labor and material usage, eliminating manufacturing defects, maximizing manufacturing throughput, and continuously improving the overall performance of the manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities: • Perform all required quality checks to include visual inspection of parts for defects, sizing, fill levels, packaging and others• Support equipment and process setup, basic maintenance, cleaning of equipment, work area and facility• Assure accuracy of manufacturing data and system transactions in DSI and JDE• Work towards eliminating production defects, maximizing product throughput, and continuously improving the overall performance of the area• Perform Filling, labeling, packaging, cleaning and others functions as requested• Inspect for & identify manufacturing defects; rework and/or scrap as appropriate• Monitor team performance and identify opportunities for improvement to the leadership team• Support the training and coaching of employees on manufacturing procedures, work instructions and guidelines• Collect and report production data, i.e., scrap, downtime, production, quantities, etc.• Where applicable maintain work center manufacturing boards & shop floor metrics• Coordinate manufacturing team daily assignments to complete work orders• Actively participate in production meetings discussing Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity (Labor Efficiency/OEE). Encourage employees to participate• Actively participate in Practical Process Improvement(PPI)/5S/and other continuous improvement/lean manufacturing projects• Identify and document Maintenance Work Orders to improve equipment and document equipment in need of repair. Coach team to participate• Assists with Standard Operator Procedures (SOPs), Packaging Records, work instructions, etc. as required for manufacturing under the leadership of the Manufacturing Supervisor• Mandatory overtime may be required to support manufacturing, department, and company objectives• Comply with safety and regulatory regulations, policies, and procedureso Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as requiredo Exercise proper lifting, bending, and twisting techniqueso Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work areao Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner• Ability to wear respiratory protection, as needed• Ensure compliance to all company policy and procedures• Specific job related training required
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:• High School Diploma or equivalent• Ability to lift, push and/or pull, up to 50 lbs.• 5+ years of equivalent manufacturing experience, preferred• Proven people and communication skills• Strong problem solving abilities necessary• Must have computer aptitude, to include but not be limited to: data entry, log in/out, screen and program navigation• Highly motivated, adaptable, and must maintain a positive attitude• Technical writing• Mechanical aptitude
